Venerable Segyu Choepel Rinpoche
Founder and Head Lama

Venerable Segyu Choepel Rinpoche is the founding director and head Lama of the Healing Buddha Foundation-Segyu Gaden Dhargye Ling. The 98th Gaden Tri Rinpoche, Venerable Jampal Shenpen, holder of the Gelugpa lineage, identified him as the reincarnation of Gyudchen Dorje Zangpo. Ven. Segyu Rinpoche was formally recognized as the reincarnation of this 16th century Tantric master in 1997 by senior masters of Sed-Gyued Datsang Monastery.

Ven. Segyu Rinpoche's formal education and monastic training in Buddhism is under the guidance of Venerable Khensur Lati Rinpoche, his root guru, who conferred on him the getsul (novice) and gelong (full) vows of an ordained monk. Rinpoche keeps a full schedule of Buddhist teachings around the world. His tireless and humble service to all he meets is a true sign of his endless qualities.
