About the Foundation

The Healing Buddha Foundation--Segyu Gaden Dhargye Ling--is dedicated to the dissemination of the Buddhadharma. This non-profit tax-exempt foundation was established in 1985 by Venerable Segyu Choepel Rinpoche to promote the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism as taught within the Gelugpa Lineage and the Sed-Gyued Datsang Tantric College.

Since its inauguration, with the blessings of Venerable Khensur Lati Rinpoche, the Foundation has hosted teachings and retreats with many highly respected teachers of all schools of Tibetan Buddhism, thus giving students a firm foundation for spiritual practice.

The Foundation is the North American representative of the Sed-Gyued Datsang Tantric Colleges of India, Nepal, and Tibet. The Sed-Gyued Lineage of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism is an unbroken line of tantric teachings descending directly from Lama Je Tsongkhapa (1357- 1419), founder of the Gelug School.

The Foundation serves the community through its branch Healing Buddha Centers and study groups in North and South America with public teachings, retreats, lectures, and workshops in Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan Medicine and Psycho-Spiritual Healing Therapy.

Unique to the Healing Buddha Foundation are its Psycho-Spiritual Healing Clinics which address our culture’s need for a healing therapy that considers a person’s physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Techniques used in the clinics are based on Buddhist psychology and Tibetan Tantric Medicine.
